The Mart Collective Now Open

One of the staff members referred to The Mart Collective, an antique and vintage mall that opened August 9 on Lincoln and Palms, as the sequel to the Wertz Brothers Antique Mart in Santa Monica. Former managers Robin Messick and Anthony Hudson, along with most of the staff and their dealers, are settling into the former Lincoln Fabrics space at 1600 Lincoln Blvd. The store is mammoth compared to nearby boutiques that have been sprouting up throughout the year, including Tradesmen LA, the Venice General Store and Fire & Creme Kids just across the street. But the inventory of rare antiques and bygone memorabilia will only increase once the second floor is reinforced to city code and the pending license to sell fine jewelry is approved. Here's a look at a few of the many, many finds that caught our eye.
