It's LA Beer Week: 10 Spots To Drink Up Around The Westside

What better way to celebrate the last weekend of summer and salute the first week of fall than sipping through the finest sudsy assortment of beer that the city has to offer. It's LA Beer Week. And starting Saturday, September 20 through Sunday September 28, bars and restaurants from Long Beach to Venice to Downtown to Pasadena will be showcasing their best pours with special discounts, food pairings and other events.

The only thing possibly more enjoyable than visiting every event around LA, would be visiting the ones just a quick Uber ride away. We get it. Lucky for you, we've sorted through the LA Beer Week events and curated this handy guide to local happenings. Still, it's nice to think about other enticing options in Eagle Rock and Hollywood, so we'll just leave this comprehensive LA Beer Week event guide here for you if the mood strikes for adventure.

1.) Wheel House Teams Up with Wurstküche During L.A. Beer Week

5.) Wallet Dropper Imperial Session IPA Release

"So.. we started brewing our Citra Pale a few years ago, and people always asked, 'Is this an IPA?' And our response was always a bit long-winded about Pale Ale and IPA and how they were different. But in the end, we always felt that a hoppy beer thats less than 6% is a Pale Ale, not an IPA. Then came along the “Session IPA” and poor little overhopped Citra was destined always to be a Pale, regardless of how much we dry-hop it. And so, in response, we would like to introduce our new Imperial Session IPA, Wallet Dropper. Brewed with Equinox, the newest named hop variety to come out of the Select Botanicals hop breeding program with such alumnus as Citra and Mosaic. A bit cedary, with touches of pine and lemon, this hop is certainly a different animal all together. We added some Cascade and Chinook to round out a very drinkable DIPA. And at only 8.1%, its one of the most “session-able” Imperial IPA’s out there! Growlers and Draft available.
