Hello September: Concerts, Festivals and More Happenings Around Venice This Month

Pumpkin spice everything is back in season and the promo aisle at CVS says it's time to start planning Halloween costumes: September has arrived. The usual late-summer heat means we won't feel sweater weather for some time still, but we can wait patiently because these upcoming events are best enjoyed when the sun lingers.

September 1 // Unknown Mortal Orchestra @ Santa Monica Pier
It's the second to last concert of this summer's Twilight Series, and tonight is indie rock band Unknown Mortal Orchestra known for funky beats and cosmic melodies. Get amped for the show and watch UMO's video for "So Good At Being In Trouble," which was shot on the Venice Beach Boardwalk and features Christopher Mintz-Plasse (McLovin!!) trying to save his friend from a hippie cult.

September 2 // First Friday
Your three-day weekend begins on First Friday. Get some Kogi tacos and Coolhaus ice cream at The Brig's food truck lot, and save the date for Abbot Kinney's biggest day of the year coming up at the end of the month.

September 3 // Artists & Fleas Venice
This Saturday (and every Saturday) the Venice outpost of Artists & Fleas takes over the yard at Westminster Elementary on Abbot Kinney with dozens of booths from local artists and vendors.

September 5 // Labor Day + Muscle Beach Championship
