Scary monsters and super creeps of Rose Ave usually lurk within the Venice Haunted House this time of year, which tragically is not happening this Halloween. Boo. We're guessing the zombies needed a break. Or they heard about the Venice Masquerade Ball happening across the street and decided to party there instead.
It should be a scream. Featuring costume contests, live performances, tarot card readers, potion bar, body painting and projection art, the Venice Masquerade Ball takes place Halloween night from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Full Circle Venice. Yes, the former church on Rose Ave. It's a creative event space now, but that should make it no less creepy with its arched stain-glass windows and creaky wooden floors.
Tickets are $30 each through October 30, and $35 at the door. RSVP by clicking "going" on the Facebook event page, or email venicemasquerade2014@gmail.com. This event is for ages 21 and older. A portion of event sales goes in support of The Venice Art Crawl & Full Circle Venice.
