40 Venice Artists To Showcase Work At Free ArtBlock Event

Visit more than 40 independent Venice artists in their natural habitat this Sunday, June 7, as they open their private studios to the public for a free collective showcase known as ArtBlock. It runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and includes 24 stops throughout Venice, from Rose Ave. to Venice Blvd, from Lincoln Blvd. down to Speedway.

This will be the fifth installment of the communal art show, which is said to be "by artists for artists to create a greater sense of community..."

"This is a long overdue program for all Venice artists to be able to expose their work to our community, to meet each other, and to create a more intimate community for all Venice artists," Emily Winters, co-founder of the Venice Arts Council, states on ArtBlock.

See the map below for a complete list of participating studios, or pick up a printed map on the day of the event at Fourth St. and Sunset Ave.

Here's a video we posted at last year's ArtBlock event. One correction though: Priscilla Witte's last name is pronounced "Witty" not "Wit." Sorry P!
