Join Venice's Community Healing Gardens for a Day of Spring Planting
UPDATE: Due to rain, the event has been postponed until Sunday February 12. 9 a.m. to noon.
Because all those planter boxes throughout Venice aren't going to reseed themselves this spring, Community Healing Gardens is hosting a Volunteer Work Day on Saturday February 11, from 9 a.m. until noon, to join your neighbors for a feel-good day of spring planting.
"Come get dirty with Community Healing Gardens as we plant for spring in our garden food boxes located on the streetsides in our Venice neighborhood," the grassroots organization announced on its Facebook event page. "Our CHG extraordinaire team member Farmer Ben will be leading us with planting instructions and tips for gardening."
Breakfast treats will be provided by Whole Foods Venice, and hot coffee comes courtesy of Groundwork Venice. CHG will have plenty of water on hand too, for you and the veggies. Wear comfortable clothes and sneakers, and they recommend bringing a hat and reusable water bottle.
A CHG table will be set up for volunteers to sign in at the Flower Court alley on 7th Street. All ages are welcome.
