Shedding Light On Venice Community Housing
Tonight we were invited to attend an intimate gathering at the Venice landmark Lantern House to learn more about the great work, programs and people behind Venice Community Housing, a non-profit group headquartered on Rose Ave for more than 25 years, that provides affordable housing and community enrichment programs. One of the students who received her high school diploma through the VCH education program was there to share her inspiring story.
Scott Mayers' Lantern House, a trio of cottages filled with colorful and eclectic artwork and illuminated by hundreds of glowing lanterns, provided the perfect backdrop to highlight the importance of maintaining diversity in this unique community. VCH executive director Steve Clare has been fighting for affordable housing and building programs that create career opportunities for individuals because he wants Venice to remain diverse and inclusive of everyone.
The VCH is always looking for people to contribute their time and talent to support the many programs available to the community. For information on how you can get involved, visit vchcorp.org.
