If you've been watching the magic happen on Facebook and Instagram, you've seen this mural for our soon-to-debut Lincoln & Rose Pop-Up holiday gift shop come to life over the past few days. And, if you're a regular on Lincoln & Rose, it will come as no surprise that the artist behind it (and standing in front of it) is our friend and fellow local Priscilla Witte.

We've been mega P.Witte fans ever since we discovered her work last year when we wrote about the opening of Simon's Market on Rose Ave. Priscilla designed an adorable chalkboard mural above the refrigerated beer, and we were smitten. We followed each other on Instagram and continued to girl-crush on this free-spirited adventurer who had impeccable taste in music and whiskey, and we swooned at the new illustrations she socialized, whether it was artwork for Foam Magazine or a quick sketch just for because.

When we launched our online Lincoln & Rose Marketplace last December, she was among the first artists we invited to participate, and she created this set of greeting cards. Since then, we've watched her dominate project after project, and mural after mural, with her signature freehand-Sharpie-paint-pen brilliance. In the past few months, she's done murals at NextSpace, Abbot Kinney's Prize Of Venice and the new Hourglass cosmetics boutique.

When the opportunity to do a Lincoln & Rose Pop-Up gift shop presented itself to us a couple weeks ago, one of the first questions we asked was about paint. With the go-ahead to get crafty and make the most of this space through December 31, we asked Priscilla if she was interested in doing a mural that was fun and festive. Within a few days, our lovely synchronized water skiers (think Venice Rockettes), who we then named after our grandmas, made a huge splash into the space and totally brought it to life.
