Venice Spring Fling
We stopped by to catch some free music and sunshine this Saturday at the third annual Venice Spring Fling, baby sister event of the Venice Music Fest, which will be held September 21. The stage on the Boardwalk at Windward featured music from ska band The Untouchables, funk and spoken word from Scunc, The Chuck Dukowski Sextet (featuring Black Flag bassist Chuck Dukowski and his wife Lora Norton on vocals), among others. Hula hoopers dotted a mellow crowd lounging in the park and snacking on food truck sliders, and Dr. Bronner's Magic Foam Experience added to the entertainment by dousing willing participants in foam and leaving them clean and tingly fresh.
