An officer-involved shooting happened this afternoon at Rose Ave. and 6th Street when police responded to a call about a disorderly man waving a large knife inside Groundworks Coffee.

According to the LAPD, they requested backup and that's when the shooting occurred.

"LAFD responded to transport the suspect who was described as conscious and breathing," reports Venice311.

Traffic was shut down on Lincoln Blvd. headed west on Rose while an investigation was being conducted. Nothing has been reported yet about the suspect's condition.
