Sharpie extraordinaire and much-loved local lady muralist Priscilla Witte debuts her solo art show tonight at Prize of Venice, a new apparel and vintage home-goods indie boutique on Abbot Kinney.
A sneak peek of her framed illustrations, up for grabs tonight from 6 to 10 p.m., shows a happy ensemble that mingles effortlessly with the shop's colorful, eclectic clubhouse vibe – summery sketches of stacked green Eames chairs, friends blowing big bubbles of gum, and vacationing toes edging a dive board.
The assortment reflects the personality of the shop, a curated collection of found prizes, fun with friends and solo moments of exploration; an experience that she helped cultivate with front signage, murals that greet visitors upon entering, custom Prize of Venice logo tees, and now a Saturday night art show with free Schlitz beer.
