Venice Garden & Home Tour - #28 Quirky Venice
Yesterday we trekked from home base at Lincoln & Rose over to Abbot Kinney where 30 homes and artists' studios were concentrated for this year's annual Venice Garden & Home Tour.
The tour map was numbered like a guide to our very own local Case Studies Houses. Standouts for us included an indoor-outdoor kitchen nook 'floating' on a glass floor (#28) and a modern home remodel centered around a giant ficus nestling an architectural treehouse (#23).
Tickets were $60 in advance and $70 at the door, but worth it for a glimpse into the home design fantasy land created by resident artists and designers whose homes often serve as a slash-workspace. And also worth a charitable donation to the Neighborhood Youth Association.
