Like a lot of newcomers in Venice, Vegan Scene opened as a multi-use space—the shop is stocked with 100 percent vegan-approved apparel, yoga classes are held in the morning, vegan cooking classes are taught in the evening, and it easily transforms into an event space too. This Saturday night, August 29th, a "veganized" The Big Lebowski-themed bowling party may be its best idea yet.  

Slip on a pair of dancing shoes along with your most comfortable bathrobe, and head over to the party on Main Street where you can sip on vegan White Russians and snack on herbaceous eats. 

Vegan Scene's lounge area will be transformed into a makeshift bowling alley where you can knock down a few pins or partake in a friendly game of beer pong. Guests are encouraged to come dressed as The Dude or any other character. Or not. Whatever's cool, man. 

"If you've ever wanted to go out to a party in your bathrobe, now is your chance!" Vegan Scene announced. "We will have a psychedelic backdrop for photos, and we'll have a rug that really ties the room together!"

Who knows, maybe Venice local, Jeff "The Dude" Dowd, who inspired the Coen brothers' 1998 cult classic, will pop in to make an appearance too.

Tickets purchased in advance online are $45, or $60 at the door.
